Sri Jayendra School
Thank you very much for donating to the Tamil Nadu project. Here you can keep track of how much money we've raised, and how much work there is still to be done! I will also be posting news and photographs here during or after the trip in June. Amount raised 10.03.09: £455 Final target 25.04.09: £1100 UPDATE: 10th March Last night 4 teachers from Sri Jayendra arrived at Mill Hill School, and today we were introduced and had a lunchtime meeting with them. They seemed really lovely, although our mouths hurt from smiling after they insisted taking hundreds of photos of us! We spoke about how different the schools are, and exactly what we should expect as a group going to teach young Indian children (apparently smacking is illegal, but only in some cases?!). Their presence makes the whole experience a lot more real, and I'm full of excitement for the trip now that the reality has finally hit me!
